Question: A colleague of mine was fired a few months ago. Last night I had a dream about her drowning dogs from a dock on a river. The dock had a little square in the middle that allowed access to the water. This is where she was holding the dogs underwater. She used a pole with a noose on the end. The dogs were all small breeds. Her demeanor wasn’t like she was being evil, just doing something that needed to be done. She explained to me matter-of-factly that these dogs simply had to be drowned. When she was finished drowning the dogs, she buried them in a field – much like she was planting them.
Answer: This is an introspective and potentially cleansing dream. All persons in your dreams are aspects of self. Since it was a former colleague, then the dream is talking about your professional or business aspect. So in other words, there is a characteristic that this former colleague has that you see within yourself. It could be an aggressive or assertive nature. Drowning the dogs is you letting go of aggressive tendencies that have been holding you back. Death usually symbolizes rebirth or new beginnings. The dock represents a safety zone or a place for reflection – emotional peace. The river is your inner flow of life.
Apparently, you have been going through an emotional time, and this is your way of dealing with letting go and finding your happy place or new direction. I think you have come to terms with where you are headed as your dream ends on a calming note. The field and planting – albeit dogs that were drowned – represent a calmness that you have realized, while the planting suggests a determined positive new direction.
Good luck to you, I think you are on the right track!

Every 4 or 6 months I dream I am talking to a star. Sometimes it's an actress or actor or could be someone like basketball player Tim Duncan. I dream that I am talking to them like if they have been my friend all along, whether visiting me or going out somewhere. I am not the type that hounds someone for an autograph or have posters all over the room etc, so does dreaming stars have any meaning? I can't remember others but Robin Williams is one.
Hi Letti, To dream of someone famous means you may be on the rise! In other words, your personal star is rising and you have opportunity or happiness ahead. Since you feel so comfortable, this is not a surprise. In other words, you know the good news or better days are ahead and you are transitioning nicely. Good dream! Dream on Sister, Gypsysister

IRMA WRITES:
HI, I AM ALWAYS DREAMING OF MY HUSBAND AND I SEPERATED AND AS TIME PASSES I TRY TO CALL HIM AND HE NEVER ANSWERS THE TELEPHONE. OR ILL CALL AND I CAN HEAR HIM TALKING TO ANOTHER WOMEN ON THE PHONE. ON ONE SPECIFIC DREAM I ASKED HIM IF HE WAS HAVING A AFFAIR HE ANSWERED NO BUT WHEN I LOOKED AT HIM HIS NOSE WAS HUGE WITH WARTS ON THE TIP OF THE NOSE. THE LAST DREAM I HAD OF HIM WAS THE THAT HIS LEFT HAND WAS CUT OFF I ASKED HIM WHAT HAPPENED HE SAID THAT OUR DOG HAD ATTACK HIM. MY HUSBAND IS LEFT HANDED. I ALWAY DREAM OF US BEING APART WHICH MAKES ME VERY INSECURE AND SUPSCIOUS OF HIS ACTIONS AND MOTIVES. PLEASE HELP INTERPRET MY DREAMS . I AM DEFINETLY A DREAMER. I HAVE DREAMS EVERY NIGHT .
Dear Irma, You are in a state! For some reason, not identified in your dream, you do not trust your husband. The telephone that goes unanswered is you feeling alone, left in a solitary state, lonely. The detached hand also speaks to this. You feel detached - alone from those around you. The fact that your husband is the lefty in the family speaks directly to the source of your emotions. Warts on the nose denotes others around you may not have your best interests at heart. So, whether it's all in your head or not, the symbols seem to indicate that you need to confront your husband and get some answers. The question is whether you are prepared to hear the answers. Your situation is not a simple one that a dream interpretation will solve. Suggestion: seek marriage counseling... Wishing you a better dream tomorrow, Gypsysister

I used to have quite a few dreams where I was in an elevator, falling down, but never it bottom. I would always wake up right before. There are no colors involved, no other people involved either. The dreams stopped at about the time my ex-husband and I split. They sure were strange..
Hi Barefoot, The elevator dream is a common one. If you are descending, it means you may encounter misfortune or disappointment. It is a dream of caution. It certainly makes sense as you were experiencing a tough emotional time in real life. If you had been ascending this would be a good dream promising hope and good fortune...Since the dreams stopped once you split, you may have experienced a new sense of relief. Dreamer Mom Writes:
1. Dateline: About 5 years after my Mothers’ death, my age at the time 35 (about me: 42 yrs old, married 20 yrs, no children)
I was in a house with a screen door (old “timey”, dark screening). I heard a knock on the door, I went to the door and it was my Mother standing there. I asked, “What are you doing here”? She said, “I just came by to let you know that everything was alright”. I said, “ok” and then that was it. She was gone.
Most would say, how sweet, but I was abused as a child and find it hard to believe that she would come to me in a dream to let me know everything was alright.
2. Recurrent Dream (since very early age): We are in our neighborhood and there is a red truck coming down the road. I am afraid and my eyes get wider and wider and then I wake up. Sometimes the dream ends differently and the truck does not stop to “get me”. Other times it is as if the truck “drops me off” and I am sad to see it go.
There is a large area of my childhood that I don’t remember; however, at the age in my dream, my memory is very clear.
Thanks,
Dear Mom Dreamer,
The old door on the house represents your childhood. It is a familiar place or how you reference in your mind your early years. It centers you. Your mother is acutally you telling yourself that you are OK. Your Mother does not influence you as before. You have overcome the hardship and are stronger after the pain of your childhood. It's a cool dream of self actualization and empowerment.
Your second dream is still about you. Your neighborhood represents self. The red truck is your comfort zone. Red denotes danger or caution and you know that subconciously, hence the color choice. The stopping and starting is exactly the way you feel in real life. At times your life is going along and you are doing just fine, then something happens and you are back on that emotional rollercoaster. When you are in the truck, or when your life is simple, you feel good about your place in the world, that's why you are sad to see it go. You know something is happening in real life that is not peaceful, not calming, and could possibly be quite upsetting.

I have dreamt that my husband died. Then I dreamt he came back to me . we just seperated after 16 years of marriage. ... only been 6 months since we seperated. He showed up one night with bag in hand saying he wanted to come back home... then dreamt he was getting married with his affair girlfriend & wanted our children to be in their wedding. Please explain?
Hi SC,
This dream is normal. There are no hidden symbols. You want your husband back. Your fear is that he will marry and then the chance of him coming back is diminished. You simply aren't dealing with what is going on in your real life very well and so you are working through the difficult transition in your dreams.
Here's wishing you better dreams tonight, - Gypsy Sister
Note: Ever had a dream you were unsure of, but remember vividly? Let me help you understand what the symbols and people in your dream represent - and what the dream is trying to tell you or help you work through. To get started, send an email to GypsySister@gmail.com with all the details you can remember from your dream.
I need to know whether it was day or night or both during your dream. Who else was in the dream and their relationship to you, such as, boss, sister, friend, stranger? What colors do you remember most and what were they attached to? For example, a blue horse, green car, white couch - you get the idea. Did you experience any pain in the dream and if so, where on your body? Was there blood? Just pain? Loose some limbs or teeth? Was their a birth or a death? Did you face your tormentor in your dream? Is this dream a repeater? Do you know the place where the dream takes place? Were you in a meadow or swimming in the ocean?
I know this sounds like a lot, but the more you can remember in terms of symbols, the more I can delve into your innermost self and interpret what is most on your mind.

Anthony writes: I remember this dream very vividly. I was with my girlfriend and sister
it was daytime they were watching tv as i saw a whole emerge in the
middle of the room and two cobra snakes that were both bright yellow
and bright red appeared out of the hole. I ended up fighting them off
and they went back in the hole. never got bit even though they tried to
strike many times. any interpretation?
Thanks
Hey Anthony,
To dream of snakes in your home writhing at you is not the best dream.
Presently in your life there are others conspiring against you or
causing you to second guess their intentions. Do they really have your
best interests at heart? Since a girlfriend and a sister are mentioned,
then the troubles are mostly likely within a relationship. The home is you and your
comfort level. Think about it. Is someone asking you to do something
that you would rather not? Since you fought the snakes off and were not
bitten, suggests that you can handle whatever decision or direction you
choose to take.

Tony dreams:
... in my dream i see alot of beige color everywhere i dont know
where i was it was a funeral for a girl i dated about 10 years ago i
saw her brother there and when i went to the casket she opened her eyes
and was happy that i was back , her brother said i was the one that she
loved. Dear Tony,
Death in a dream is about letting go and rebirth. Seeing someone you
have loved but with whom you are not currently in a relationship suggests that you
have let go and are at peace with what is now in the past. Her eyes
are your eyes now wide open and you are OK.
Beige
is almost the absence of color or of emotion.
It's taken a while but you have moved on.

JA dreams:Recurring dream – Never can find a dial
on a telephone, cannot get thru to anyone. If someone answers, it is an answering
service that does not service my calls. Phones break. But especially, can never
use the keys correctly to connect to anyone.
Hi there,
Telephoning or contacting is you trying to get in touch with someone.
Perhaps on a more sexual level. The fact that you don't seem to connect
could be what you are experiencing in real life. In other words, the
relationship is not going to the next level. Not being able to use the
keys correctly is you what you are thinking on an unconcious level.
It's seems you may not want the relationship to become more intimate.

MJ writes:
I had a recurring
dream...
When I was in my
early 20's I dreamt one time that I was driving my mom's old red four door
blazer and my dad and brother were riding with me. I had to drive up a
scary and steep hill, and didn't know what was on the other side.
Later, we were driving on a tiny road with water on either side. If I
swerved the slightest, we would go into the water. I turned into a
dock-type area to fill up on gas and the vehicle went into the water. I
watched in horror as water filled the inside of the vehicle and watched my
brother and dad go under water. This was during the late daytime, early
evening.
...Later during the
same time of my life, I dreamed that I was driving my mom around in
the same car. It was pitch black at night. I drove over a big hill
and off into the water. I told my mom to wait. We waited for the car
to float to the bottom, then let it fill up with water, then opened the door and
swam out. Never had the dream again.
Dear MJ,
In your early 20's you must have been in a relationship that was
getting serious or at least had the possibility of getting more
serious. However you had some concerns; evident in the steep
hill. Going up the hill then down the other side suggests some tension
most likely sexual. The water is your feminine side - also dealing with
sexuality. The full car is you feeling overwhelmed at what you are
experiencing or contemplating in the relationship. Your Dad and brother
represent the masculine side of the relationship. Your feeling
overwhelmed is again reinforced with the drowning. Later in life, you
seem to have come to terms with the relationship and whatever the
outcome you emerged stronger and in charge of the direction you wanted
the relationship to take.
You go girl,

RR writes:
I’m having a repeating dream that I’m at a river, lake or at the coast fishing usually with my kids and family members, its usually at night but there are alligators everywhere, they snap but I don’t think they have bitten any of us. One of them we were swept in the water in the ocean no alligators on this one but there was a threat of sharks, my youngest son got pushed away from me and I was really scared but a dolphin came and helped us all out. Another was we were in a lake like environment, playing along the water when I noticed it was full of alligators but they weren’t really doing anything, another was at the river and basically the same as the lake we were playing in the water and the alligators just appeared. All these settings are places that I frequent with my family quite often in the summer.
Dear RR:
This is a dream of caution. It is also an emotional dream personified by the presence of your family and the water. In your personal life, you may be considering a change in relationship which may not be in your long term best interest. The alligators and sharks leaving the water and attempting to bite means you need to take care and be mindful of how your actions may affect those around you as well as yourself.

Brenda dreams: ....my husband is waiting on tables in a cafe, which I am
thinking he owns it, he is nude, he is sitting on a side bar swinging
his legs, naked...his niece is standing there talking to him ..like
nothing is out of place..I walk in and tell him it is time to go...it
is dark outside...the cafe is old and the color I see most is
green...and some black..the floors of the cafe are cement with some
indoor outdoor carpet here and there...kind of tacky looking...the
tables look like they came out of a bar. the door to the place is in
the back and it's a screen door that doesn't close well...I didn't like
the place at all.
Hi Brenda,
Your dream is about letting go of pretenses and doing what you think is right, prefer to do or how you would rather live.
Family and what they think is important and this is manifested as they
center prominently in the dream. The fact that you see nothing wrong
with your husbands' behavior or nakedness suggests that you are in
accord with this change in thought or attitude. The dark shadows and
dim view of the bar/cafe indicates a repressed state. The color green
represents an improved state of mind; you've come to terms with this
new direction, hence the door is open....

Elva dreams: .. last night I dreamed of a little yellow duck that was given to me as a gift. I was really taken care of it a lot in the dream. My mother was in my dream and some old friend that I haven't seen in a while. So what do you think the yellow duck stands for????
Hi Elva,
This is a good dream. You are in a happy place right now. The duck
represents your soul. When you are not dreaming, you seem to be nourishing your
needs and getting centered as well.

F.S. dreams: ... that I was on top of a hill overlooking an orchard on a nice
sunny day. I couldn't tell what grew on those small trees. I was
wearing sunglasses and present were two older ladies and a white female
eagle next to an old car. As I looked at the orchard below, one of the
ladies said, "Only evil people wear sunglasses". Down below, a small
twister was destoying the orchard. The lady then said, "See how the
devil works". The eagle look at me with a tear in her eye and said, "I
love you so much that I'm willing to die for you". The ladies spoke in
Spanish and the eagle in English. That was the end of my dream. I
woke up thinking, "What a wierd dream. I wonder what it meant."
Dear F.S.
This dream is about relationship. In your life you have been the
dominant one in the relationship, hence the eagle. The two languages
means an opposite or antithetical aspect is present. The wind or
twister denotes a change in the relationship. The Old car is you and
how your comfort within the relationship is in the past. The sunglasses
suggest that you do not want to see the change clearly and acutally may
just want to ignore it. The thoughts of evil and the destruction of the
orchard are your way of dealing with the possibility of this
relationship ending as you do not want the change to come about even
though you care deeply. Dream on. Gypsysister

SCisneros dreams:
...My two boys are grown now with families of their own, but my dream is always back when my boys were about 6 & 11yrs old. They both took to water at an early age and were very good swimmers. My dream is always is about water and for some reason, my youngest son (about 6yrs at the time) always drowns just before I wake up sweating and crying. The water is always a lake or pond, but I have no idea where. As far as I can remember, nothing is in color and it occurs usually at night. Just before I awake, my other son and I are always reaching into the water trying to grab my youngest son’s hand, but he slowly sinks into the water, that’s when I awake sweating and crying.
Dear SC:
To dream of others drowning and you are able to help them portends a relief of something that has been an area of concern. You are in a protective state as these are your actual sons in the dream. Even though they are older now, you - their Mother, still worry about them. Your older son may be less of a concern and may even been helping in real life with the younger son that may be going through a difficult situation. This help could be about anything in their life, property, family, health, money etc.
Dream on,
