Hannah Montana Ticket Lie

All morning long, we've been talking about the Hannah Montana ticket scam in north Texas. A little girl wrote a letter to win Hannah Montana tickets which turned out to be a scam. She said her father died in Iraq. The girl's mother did nothing to stop her. She ended up winning the tickets and accepted the prize. Some digging was done and it turns out the girl's father is alive and well. He's never been in the military and works as a carpet cleaner in Garland.

What are your thoughts on this? We want to hear from you!

we people know, if one of us are in the military we automaticly get sympothy from the people. If a soldier gets hurt we pour our hearts out to them. Everyone knows that. The mom should not be blamed. Blame society for her efforts. When a man or woman is in the military(war) and gets hurt, they should not be rewarded with gifts and money. The military is a job we volunteer to get paid with full benefits. It's a risk they take; comes with the job. Those tickets shouldn't have been taken from her. Let's not feel sorry for ourselves.

The biggest problem I see is that the mother is raising a child with the idea that if you wnat something cheating and lying is okay. Yes the tickets should have been taken away and the mother and child both publicly humiliated. Maybe a good lesson learned.

I think this woman is missing 2 important things in life:  an education and morals.
Education to help with understanding our world and learning to communicate.  Also, just being able to THINK, especially about "If I do this, then this might happen."  That's where morals come in, telling us when something is WRONG and should not be said or done.

I have no doubt this woman loves her daughter and is trying to be a good mother, but she is so uneducated, she did not realize the consequences that would occur once the lie came out.

WOW!!!! Publicly-humiliation-the mom and child. We might as will give 'em prison time. The childs mind is going to be ruined if you want to humiliate her. Yes, she wanted to see hanna so bad she'd be willing to tell a white lie. No harm done there. I think we need to humiliate Judy for her comment.

You have to keep in mind not everyone is smart like you think you are. We are all different up there in the brain. That mom did her best to try to get her daughter to get tickets to hanna show. If we all thought the same, we would know for sure that mom would have made sure her daughter would make a good decision. Also if we all thought the same we wouldn't be driving and talking on cell phone at the same time.     Thought of the month: The ones who know it all think- they know it all

The mother and daughter should have to attend at least two funerals of two military members who were KIA....  The mother must VOLUNTEER at a VA hospital for at least one year, AND the daughter should have to take at the very least 4 weekends and visit and play with children who truly have lost a parent in war....  In addition, the mother must pay back any and all things her daughter was given prior to being caught....

I think that the mother knew exactly what she was doing.  I think she deserves the humiliation she gets.

As a vet I believe taking the tickets was a good call.  Sean, prison time might be an option.  So you think a little "white lie" is ok to tell?  I'll bet your resume is full of little white lies.  What that mother did was not a white lie, she flat out lied to win a contest.  White lies are generally told to save someones feelings, not to win a contest or get a job etc.

So is it ok to lie about being in combat to garner sympathy?  Or lie about medals you didn't earn?  Or how about lying about being in special ops when you were a supply puke?  Military spouses and military widows are a special group of people and this mother  tried to steal some of the hard earned respect that belongs to the spouses.

Lying is wrong, and playing on sympathy by saying your father was killed in a war is flat out wrong.  There is no excuse other than the fact that the mother is pond scum.  She got caught and is paying the price.  Anyone who makes excuses for this human garbage is showing what kind of person they are.

Everyone makes mistakes, this was a calculated action that wasn't a mistake, it was a moral decision that the mother made, and a bad one.  I feel sorry for the child, she is growing up in an environment that is not conducive to her being a productive member of society.  This event will have far reaching consequences for the child.

The mother victimized the child and should be punished.

I'm SO glad the company had the guts to take the tickets AWAY from that lying girl, and not worry about looking like an unsympathetic meanie.  It was a flat out and out lie and mom and (unfortunately) child have to weather the ridicule that comes from it.  MOM>>>>teach your child that lying is WRONG. Oh sorry....mom doesn't even know that.

I see a lawsuit coming said:

The mother claims she gave the tickets back, and the Libby Lu didn't take them from her.  However, her whole premise to the essay she submitted was that she was telling it as a fable or story.  She said that the essay rules never stated the information had to be accurate or true.  This concert she got tickets for isn't supposed to be until January 9th in New York.  $100 says she'll hire some ambulance chaser to fie a restraining order against Libby Lu for giving the tickets to someone else.

BTW - She's already been 'punished' in one sense.  She's gotten so many harrassing and threatening calls, that she's had to move from her home.  I also imagine any place she's working at will reevaluate her job, and possibly let her go.   The saddest part will be the little girl.  I imagine when she gets back to school tomorrow, all her friends will ridicule and berate her for her part in all this.  I just hope her teachers and the administrators will protect her.

My opinion is this..I feel sorry for the girl who is being taught by her mother that it is okay to deceive others to get what you ant. Bad parenting on her part. But then again look at her mother she looks like one of those low-life Mexicans out of Garland/Houston Area who run scams, strip, or steal people's identities just to get what she wants! CPS should go and check out her home because she obviously has no MORALS and her child should be shielded from IDIOTS like her. It is sad to ruin an impressionable MIND like this poor 6 year old!

I say give it another 10 years and this poor kid will wind up in the juvenile system because she has learned how to scam and cheat others from the best, HER  MOTHER!!

Besides I think Jail time for the mom is a good way to show this child that stealing is a crime and that is not the best way to get what you want. People like this are disgraceful and should be kicked out of the COUNTRY for using other people like our Military WHO REALLY SACRIFICE THEMSELVES FOR US!!!! I SURE HOPE THE WINNER WHO WON THE PRIZE IS A MEMBER OF A REAL MILITARY FAMILY WHO DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE A PRINCESS AND RUB THIS IN THIS FAMILY'S FACE BECAUSE THIS DUMB MOTHER JUST BOUGHT HERSELF SOME FAME IF THAT IS WHAT SHE WANTED WELL SHE GOT IT BUT FOR THE WRONG REASONS!! DUMB@$$ IS ALL I HAVE TO SAY!!

hanna say what?????? Who ever you are, sounds like you're upset that you didn't get the tickets. You're probably will get busted chris hanson from dateline.  Just because you are in the military doesn't give you a right to be treated better than a regular citizen.  Remember what Kerry said," only dumb people go into the service".       It's true 97% of the people who inlist are dumb and physicaly fit. Doesn't take much to fire a weapon. Back in Vietnam days, Yes I really respect cause they didn't volunteer-they were forced to inlist. Don't feel sorry for military families. They have the best benefits than your average joe. The government takes care of their people.  While regular folks work hard for a piece of bread.  I don't feel sorry for those military people.    I had a friend who had his legs blown off, he refuses to take from people.  He came back from Iraq with a purple heart and hate for the war.  His purple heart is in the trash somewhere. He went in the military to get a licence to kill. In other words he was a murderer.  War or no war, you kill, you sin.  Acording to the god. I admit the smarter. The richer.  The dumber us human beings are. 2012 is coming if the Aztecs are right you better own a boat or a raft cause there is going to be some natural desasters.  And yes  that lady and daughter should live in your house.
