You've likely seen all the headlines -- tragically troubled Britney Spears rushed to the hospital and checked in to a psychiatric ward early this morning.

Camera crews and police helicopters were all on the scene last night as an ambulance carrying the singer made its way to UCLA Medical Center, accompanied by a police escort of more than a dozen motorcycle officers.

Now, reports are that the 26-year-old mother of two is currently being held under a 72-hour psychiatric emergency hold, known as a 5150.

It's just the latest in a year of headlines trumpeting Spears' erratic behavior -- and we thought it was bad last year when she shaved her head bald last year. Compared to the other events on her downward spiral, the head-shaving seems tame.
