As Heather said on last weeks show, the challenge for the week is to remove the temptation! I thought i had already done that, i gave away 4 packages of cookies and i checked the calories on most of the things that i thought could be bad. The stuff that was "bad" that was still left was stuff that take alot of effort to make so i wasn't worried about it.
I made a commitment to myself to change my life for good before i even knew if i made it on the show. So no problem, i am willing to get rid of junk that i shouldnt have and that honestly 2 weeks in am not missing. But in removing temptation, i went to the freezer. My friend that waits in the cold for me was there to say hello. I grabbed the container of peanut butter fudge brownie swirl ice cream and a great big spoon and i dived in. The thick spoon cut through the frozen confection like it was a hot knife slicing through butter. The spoon came out of the container with a large mountain of chocolate swirled goodness and I leaned ever so slightly foward and...plopped it in the sink! I ran water over it so it would melt down quickly, but it clung to life for a few extra breaths. I emptied the entire container. It really was like saying goodbye to an old friend. This was someone I turned to for a shoulder to cry on when I am sad, and when I need a high five after a good test grade. Okay, so maybe the ice cream has never given me a high five, but it was always there when I needed it.
Luckily i have made some new friends to turn to on those good and bad days.
