Here's the funny thing. It's so easy to get caught up in the negative. In reality the negative is such a small part of what's going on. Almost 90% of what we've done is positve. Here are some things that come to mind (in no order and remember it's late):
- The weight you've lost is incredible no matter what.
- You've added years to your life.
- You've developed habits that will positive change everything in your life forever.
- You're learning how to take care of yourself better.
- You've proven to yourself (and to others that might be paying attention) that you are not lazy and unmotivated.
- You've proven to yourself (and others...) that you are willing to work your butt off to accomplish your goals. This is the most amazing thing. I think (and I'm guilty of this) that overweight people put their dreams on hold using weight as an excuse to accept less out of life. Screw that (sorry)! No matter what happened before this contest, you should now know that you CAN put in whatever hard work is necessary to reach your goals. WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT IN LIFE? You should feel like you can put in the work to get it. I sure hopes this makes sense because it bowls me over.
- You've positively affected the lives of others around San Antonio through your example. These are people that you may never meet but people who are inspired by our efforts.
- You've making some good friends.
- You're having fun.
And each person probably has some thing that this contest has improved in their lives. For me today, it was noticing that it was easier to get in and out of the car. I know that's small but it's really quite nice.
Anyway, this is a new week! There is nothing you can do about the past. You can only work today toward a better future.
That's my rant for the night!
Hope it makes sense. Since 2/21 my bedtime has been about an hour ago!
