Has anyone ever tried to go on an all liquid diet?

I just started a liquid diet with protein shakes and it is leaving me feeling really yucky!  Anyone out there have any hints on how to work these tricky things?  It feels like when your stomach is quesy (spl?) and your electrolites are off and you are giving up sugar and caffine at once and you HAVE A MIGRAINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

trying to make this simple....for me it is harder to try to "diet" ... and have choices .. rather make just simple chioices....straw, van, choc.

I thought that we were not on diets but on a life changing experience.  This meaning we were changing the way we eat by replacing the unhealthy things we eat with healthy choices, learning how to prepare or order things that are better for us and that will help us reach our goals to become fit and healthy and by doing these things we will lose weight?  I just don't understand how drinking shakes gets you to the place I outlined above?

I do understand that you have had low numbers such as myself and you don't want to go home and neither do I.  I want you to lose the weight Belinda, but I don't want you to put it back on when you go back to eating real food again. :)

I do not advise liquid diets.  What I am trying to help promote for you is what your relationship with food is, why have you battled with eating in the past, how can we make this better so that you can succeed in the future.  Going to all liquid diet promotes a low calorie eating plan, which I don't recommend given the amount of exercise that we are encouraging you to do.

I certainly don't mind using a protein drink as a snack or busy morning choice for breakfast...but to substitute your meals and snacks with a liquid diet is not what I had hoped for you.

Back to your healthy eating plan.  You have to learn how to make good choices during busy work days, stressful moments, and social events.  This will be your greatest asset to succeeding in the future--both short term and long.

Hi mIss belinda,

I hope that you aren't doing the whole liquid drinks because of the elimination coming up.  I learned something from Mickey the other day.  I was going to start the all salad diet this week when she reminded me of something.  It's not about the show, it's about what comes after the show- whether you are eliminated or whether you win this thing, either way-in the END we are learning to eat for the rest of our lives.

We all know that salad diets/pills/special drinks do work, but obviously they don't work for long.  With time they get boring, and we aren't getting any of the right things that the our body needs.

Personally I have made a decision to stick to the plan, because now I know that it works.  You lost -5 and you know that it works.  Keep on going girl! I know that you can do it.  If i can do it... You can do it...

Oh Belinda,

As just a viewer I will ask you the question that has been in my head since I read this blog entry..."Why are you fighting the program?" I think once you wrestle that question and TRULY find the answer you will be able to make the right decisions. I bet this new lifestyle isn't easy but I think if it was the weight loss industry would not be making billions every year trying to convience people they have the new "quick" weight loss program. I would say trust the professionals around you and if you find that you can't do that maybe there lies the problem....

Hang in there.

not fighting the program it just is generalizd with why people become heavy and that is overeating.  My problem has never been that it is my sedintary life and my bad eating habits... no breakfast (yuck) lunch on the run maybe then home around 7 to 9 and late dinner because I am starved and cannot sleep... I have had the problems of having to adjust eating more often and regularly which is my challenge.  The age factor does not help either.
