NEW OUTLOOK!!!

I want to start by thanking all of you for you insights.  I like to think I am learning lots of lessons, then you guys post your insights and i get to learn so much more than I could on my own.  This morning, I was thinking about something that Jim Cramer said on news radio a while back.  He was discussing finances as always, and a woman called in about being overwhelmed with debt.  He said to her, "How do you eat an elephant?...One bite at a time!"  So yea, it applies to finances, but it can also be applied to nearly everything we do in life.  every step we take puts us closer to our goals, not just in money, not just in weight loss, or relationships, or work, but everything.  Everyday we take baby steps towards out goals big and small, sometimes we dont even think about things as goals, but essentially, everything we do is for a goal.  The goal could be as small as brushing your teeth, but you have to wet your tooth brush, apply the tooth paste, use the water to anchor the toothpaste, we take for granted that those are steps to a goal, but they are.

My point is, I am going to start looking at life this way.  Every workout, every smart choice, every second that i avoid temptations is a bite from that elephant.  Everytime that overcome negativity in my life is a bite.  Some bites are little and some big but they all have a common goal.  It is important not to get overwhelmed by the elephant, because every bite counts.

Okay, so maybe that was a little abstract thinking, but it all became clear to me so i thought i would shareWink

One Minute at a Time, One Hour at a Time, One Day at a Time, One Week at a Time, One Month at a Time (this is where we are all at now)....next thing you know WOW...You have Done what you never thought you could. We will do things next week we thought we couldn't do. One leg of the Elephant down and lots and lots more to go. I think we will finish eating it some where around 2025, but by May WE will look Fabulous.

LOL - great abstract thinking Laurie!!  I like it and while we are eating elephants diannag we don't use knives and forks we go primal and rip it off with our teeth! By the way though, why are we eating a elephant in the first place? Why not a zebra or a hippo? LOL - just teasing....

Stay strong Dianna!  I agree about the holidays... I am not sure which is worse, having to spend them with family, or not. The light is there, sometimes you just have to squint your eyes really tight to see it.  Grab that elephant by the ears and take a bite, stress will be gone before you know it!

Go Laurie Go!  Way to fire us up with a little pep rally!  We need those every once in a while...are you kidding me...we need one of those every day.  Let's hear some wise, inspiring words from our other friends.  This is going to be a tough week...let's keep picking everyone up!

Dianna, you can do this! You have already taken the hardest most large step by putting yourself out there w/ all of us and commit yourself to this adventure! That in itself it hard as hell! Why do you think we are all here?? Hopefully your week will go by quickly and all willl be well! But if not girl feel free to vent because you know we are all here for you! ~ Marci

Dianna,

First, I wish you would have told me that was the problem earlier.  I went into a big, cathartic, self-discovery blog on my "negative/postive" entry.  Geez, now what do I do since I put myself out there.  Do me favor, read it and if you like put it in the fridge and save it for when it applies.

Second, yeah, your week has sucked.  Your ARE really doing well and I'm glad Marci jumped in with her encouragement.  It's true!  Sometimes just venting is good, too.  Hope you had a better day!
