Last night's fire destroyed the  oldest building on campus.

What is your reaction to the fire?

Do you have a memory from college or time you spent on campus?

We want to hear your thoughts and reactions to the devastating fire.

Way too much coverage for it to be on all the stations.  Nothing new to report for over two hours. Reporters kept babbling and repeating themselves.  Looking for a student to interview about how they felt, how pathetic.

I am deeply sadden by the tragic event that took place at my Alma Mater as it was apart of my childhood, growing up 7 blocks away and would always hear the Bells ring at the top of the hour. This was like a second home while I attended there. This was the University My Mother did not have the chance to attend because she had me so when I decided to transfer there from San Antonio College, I did it because it was the way to honor my mother and her dream of going to school and getting her degree from there. So when I crossed the stage in 2004 it was not only my Dream but hers as well.

I am proud to say that I got my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Certificates in Criminal Justice and Violence Prevention and Intervention from such a prestigious University that Put Family First. I have no bad things to say about the University because all of my memories from Working at the Bookstore to taking all of my classes in the Main Building were filling with nothing but respect and adoration for the faculty and staff who took it upon themselves to give back to a school that gave so much to it's students and community while I attended there.

Now that this tragedy happened it us a call to all of the Alumni to help restore a school that gave us the foundation to be successful individuals and achieve whatever goals or dreams we had. I have many memories spending my time especially in the Psychology Department which is in the Providence Building section that is attached to the Main Building itself. Those days and nights it took me over the course of two years were filled with lessons learned and investment in for what is now apart of my foundation. It is sad to know the beautiful main Stairway is gone, the beautiful tile that was in the entrance way as well as the beautiful portrait of one of the Sisters as you entered through the main building door.
My daughter at the time was 6 years old when I was attended the school and her first impression was "Wow Mom you go to Hogwarts" And now she is just as sad and heartbroken as I am because she too would like to Attend OLLU when she gets out of high school in her future. But despite this happening to the University, I assured her that her dream to go there should not be given up. Yes there was a rich history behind it that was lost last night, but it is also an opportunity for a New Beginning. The Lord always has a plan for when bad things happen to great people and out of this and for us Alumni it is a call for us to Give back and help bring back our School stronger than ever before!

Don't let your dreams become a What If. Make it become your I WILL and achieve it despite the obstacles that have been placed upon you. Because in the End all the lessons and faith that is instilled upon you from this University makes you stronger than what you believe yourself to be and no tragedy will ever tear you down..

Yes, I echo what SpursFan4Life has stated. This is a tragedy to see my 2nd home go up in flames. I am deeply saddened for the sisters who have put in so much hard work and faith in this university for so many years. It is an honor to receive my degrees from OLLU because of the rich faith of the founders and the current bearers of the university and its mission. It is troubling to know that this may have been intentionally set; I hope this is not the case. This campus has been regarded as such a sacred space and I hope that it continues to be held in this regard even after it is rebuilt.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the faculty and staff who have put in tireless hours of hard work for the betterment of our community. Let's see the good that will come out of this.
