The game is still  the same as it was last year and the year before that so on and so forth. The spurs are on top of the basketball world and are still going to until the wheels fall off. remember that.

The real season doesn't actually start until after the All-Star break.  That's when Coach Pop sets our players looose.  Before this time he keeps them in check and out hopefully out of injuries.

Just another useless blog.  What idiot in this town isn't going to say they're "Ready for the Spurts"?  The only people reading this stupid comment are the diehard fans without a life.  I quit going to games after the second year they were in the AT&T Center.  The cheap seats suck, and the lower level seats are only for people who have nothing better to do with their money.  The Missions won the Texas Championship, and hardly anything was mentioned about it on the news.  The Silver Stars went all the way to the semi-finals, and got minimal air time.  The Spurs haven't even gotten on the court, and they're front page news, and on every 5, 6, and 10 newscast.  The loyal sports fans in this town need to set their priorities.  If you ever want San Antonio to have more than one major sport, you need to support all the minor clubs that work hard for this city.  Believe me, in 5 years when Duncan, Parker, and Ginobelli leave this team, you won't be yelling "HOW BOUT THEM SPURS!!"  That's because they'll be back to their 30 - 52 season, not even making the playoffs.

As much as they have been in the news, from Bruce Bowen salon, to Horry changing his number, did it ever end?  I am sick of the Spurs and thier fans.  Can't wait until they get the buts handed to them this season.  I agree with Whocares?  Duncan only has a few more years and then they will be the nobody's they were before.

Sick of them.

You're a funny person YOU.  Obviously a smart ass punk who most likely can't even afford to go to the games unless mommy and daddy take you.  Do something more productive with your life, like PASS YOUR SCHOOL CLASSES, than sitting on useless blogs talking about something you know nothing about.

Think YOU need to take a grammer and keyboarding class.  Maybe you need your mommy to change your diaper again.  Obviously the truth hurts you.  Does your mommy know you're playing on her computer?  Think it's time for you to go take another nap.  You also need to come up with some more original put downs.  That really hurt about being 38 and still living with mommy.  You think 38 is old?  Father left because I'm so ugly?  These sound like insults my 10 year old would say (uh, yes I'm older than 38).  Did you hear the "Take out the paper and the trash........Don't talk back." line from your parents?  Do you even know who sang that line, and what song it's from?  Which  movie were you watching to get that line, Back To The Future?  Grow up son and learn to respect your elders.

Can't figure it out.  Why is AJ's number being retired???  Nice guy, great around the community, lockerroom leader, yes.  But how well did he play in his career to justify having a number retired?  The numbers speak for themselves.

He was a journeyman playing for six teams being cut and traded even by the Spurs.  He averaged 8.4 points for his career, 5.5 assits. 1.66 turnovers, not to mention shooting a 14.5 % from the three point line.  He was a liablilty for many years during the 90's when teams would double off him a Duncanless Dave, it was Avery who could never hit a shot.  One baseline jumber in the Finals does not give you a ticket to the rapters.  He was never even mentioned let alone considered to be an All Star in all his years in NBA, just as a role player.

His number has no business being retired and I've heard many Spurs fans agree.  So at this rate Manu, Tony and Tims will be retired.  Well they have the numbers to back it up, look at the comparison of todays Big Three versus the old Big Three of Sean, David, and Avery.  The numbers don't lie, not individually or with the numbers of rings.  Two All Stars vs Three All Stars.

Back to Avery, he was a third string PG in Dallas and GS after leaving SA.  So does playing on a Team for 10 yrs. win below average numbers get your number retired???

YOU and kris need to make a play date.  Maybe your mommies can arrange it.  I totally agree about Avery.  He was ridin his way through the NBA with the Spurts and all the other second-rate teams he played with.  Hell, just retire all their numbers.  The rafters will be decorated with useless jersey's, and the new players with have numbers like 22.8, 15.5, etc.

The Spurs seem to have a knack of winning on odd-numbered years..i hope they can break that habit this season and win back-to-back before their contracts are up

How will the Spurs cope with having the target on their back again this year and what are their chances for a repeat?  I hope better than in previous years.  Also, Beno Udrich is already the first casualty and the season hasn't even started yet.  The Spurs will need to stay healthy to have a shot at another title.  That won't be easy since they are the oldest team in the NBA.  Conditioning will be very important to avoid major injuries.

Also, I negleted to mention that a team in our division, who lost in the first round last year to the lowly Golden State Warriors are going to come with a vengence this year.  Are the Spurs ready for them?

I am defininetly ready for this season.  I can't wait to go watch the Spurs in action. I just wish the spurs would change their INTRO song.  That song is old and horrible.  I think it has to be the worst INTRO song in the entire NBA.  Spurs and Spurs fans, Its time to change the song.
